I was blessed to travel to North Carolina and stay with Glenn, Carolyn, and their daughter Anna West.  We were also able to enjoy some golf between the raindrops.  I was given the opportunity to share with their church family and participate in their Vacation Bible School—truly a great church and wonderful pastor, Mark Meadows.  Pray for them as they hope to build a new church building.

I attended the conference with Hope of the Nations at the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina.  While I was there, I was able to share with individuals the principles of Compassion’s Calling.  It is always encouraging to see the responses and affirmation of what I share.  There are more doors of opportunity for future meetings.

More tips for comforters:

  • Avoid saying, “I know how you feel”.  Nobody will believe you and the statement accomplishes nothing.

  • Words often fail; so express yourself through a loving hug, a handshake, or even a simple touch.  Just being there is a ministry.

  • Do not be afraid to “weep with those who weep”.

I will include more tips for comforters in the next update.

Remember, where God guides, God provides (Isaiah 58:11) and you never meet anyone by accident.  Your prayers on this ministry’s behalf is appreciated.

PS  I have recorded some short devotionals on “The Book of Hope” on YouTube – Darwin Vail channel.

Isaiah 58:11  The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones;

You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
